Red Lava Rock

A Rich Red Volcanic Rock for Fire Pits and Desert Landscapes

Red Lava Rock is a naturally porous volcanic aggregate with the deep rust-and-brick color that comes from iron oxidation as the lava cooled. The result is a chunky, lightweight rock with a rough natural texture and warm red-brown tone. Sized to approximately 1″, it works cleanly across fire pit fill, landscape ground cover, and gardening applications.

This is the warmer, red-toned counterpart to our Black Lava Rock. Both share the same porous structure, lightweight handling, and heat-resistant properties, but the color choice depends entirely on the design you’re building. Red Lava reads warm and desert-native. Black Lava reads modern and dramatic. Many designers use them together for high-contrast landscape or fire feature designs.
